Guangzhou University Plans to Enroll 7500 Students in 2014

       According to 2014 Undergraduate Students Enrollment Proposal issued by Education Department of Guangdong Province, Guangzhou University (GZU for short) will increase four undergraduate majors, namely, Economics, Internet and New Media, Landscape Architecture and Real Estate Development and Management. The total number of enrollment is proposed to be 7500.

       In recent years, as the total number of students who attend the College Entrance Examination has been increasing, the pressure to enroll students for universities has being going up, too. To release the pressure and return to the society, GZU tries to combine this situation with the development strategy of itself, adjusting and optimizing the structure of major and subject to provide excellent education to a larger number of students. In 2014, there are 78 majors recruiting students and ninety percent of the enrollment will be open to students of Guangdong Province, which means that students from Guangdong Province, especially form Guangzhou, will enjoy enrollment priority in GZU.

       GZU also enrolls students of other provinces with the goals of the first branch of undergraduate. The provinces are: Chongqing, Ningxia, Fujian, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Hubei, Guangxi, Hunan, Anhui, Guizhou, Neimenggu, Henan, Gansu, Yunnan, Shanxi, Jilin, Xinjiang, Sichuan, and Hebei.

       GZU has made a progress at the adjustment of enrollment batch and the promotion of International Program for Undergraduate Students of Guangzhou University (IPUS for short). In 2014, nine majors has set up “2+2” international class. They are: Business Administration, Engineering Administration, Human Resource Management, Finance, English, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Mechanical Design and Automation, and Electro- Mechanical Engineering. Besides, GZU has cooperated with Wesleyan College in America to set up Wesleyan College of Guangzhou University, introducing the advanced education ideal to GZU and carrying out female elite education to cultivate international talents. This double bachelor degree project plans to enroll 100 students of three majors: Business Administration, Economics, and Applied Psychology.
