Domestic Universities Enthusiastic in International Cooperative Programs

Along with the internationalization of higher education, International cooperative program has been a highlight of university enrollment this year. South China Agricultural University will collaborate with University College Dublin in Biological Science (major). Guangzhou University is going to extend its International Cooperation for Undergraduate Students to 6 more majors, including Finance, Engineering Management, Business Administration, English, Biotechnology and Mechanical Design and Manufacture. The South China Business College of Guangdong Universities of Foreign Studies will open 2 business international classes for students of Accounting and International Business.

There is "in-quota" as well as "out-quota" plan in International Cooperative Programs in Guangdong. Students recruited by the former are those who reach certain required score in higher education entrance exam, and then have the first few years’ study in the domestic university, and another few years in the foreign university. Degree of both universities will be given when they graduate. Students recruited by "out-quota" plan are those not admitted by domestic universities. But as they meet admission requirements of International Cooperative Program in a test, they will also study in domestic universities for a period, and later transfer to foreign universities. They obtain a foreign degree only.  "Out-quota" plan has become a popular choice for high school students to study abroad.
