The Opening Ceremony of Sun Yat-sen University Education Internationalization Research Center and the Report of the Research Proposal of The Study on the Planning of Guangdong Education International

At 2:30 pm on February 22th, 2014, the Opening Ceremony of Sun Yat-sen University Education Internationalization Research Center and the Report of the Research Proposal of The Study on the Planning of Guangdong Education Internationalization, one of Guangdong’s 2013 Education and Research Major Subjects, were organized by CIBT International College at the Global Learning Network Center in Wenyi Building in the HEMC Campus of Guangzhou University. Relevant leaders including Ni Xing, the Head of Social Sciences Department in SYSU, Zheng Wen, the Director of the Higher Education Office of Guangdong Province Department of Education, Feng Xinglei, the Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Guangdong Province Department of Education and other specialists attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Liyi, the President Assistant of Guangzhou University, introduced the attending specialists and guests and made a brief presentation about the project, Boya International Education. The following was the opening ceremony of Sun Yat-sen University Education Internationalization Research Center hosted by Qu Qiongfei, the Deputy Dean of the Education School of Sun Yat-sen University. During the ceremony, the members of the Center as well as leaders of different higher education institutes expressed their expectations and blessings to the Center. The Director of the Center, Professor Chen Changgui, reported the preliminary ideas about the objectives and the operation of the Center.

After the ceremony, Xie Chunyan, the Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Administration Office of Guangdong Province Department of Education, hosted the Report of the Research Proposal of The Study on the Planning of Guangdong Education Internationalization, one of Guangdong’s 2013 Education and Research Major Subjects. The leader of the research team, Chen Changgui, reported the detailed research proposal for the study and answered the questions from the specialists. The lively discussion between research team and specialists provided valuable suggestion and inspiration for the future study.  

The meeting enhances the communication among experts in the field of international education research, represents an increasing emphasis on the internationalization of Guangdong’s education and advances the theoretical research of education internationalization into practical efforts.
