2013 Administrative Committee Video Conference of Wesleyan College Confucius Institute Was Held in CIBT

On (GMT+8) 30th October, the 2013 Administrative Committee Video Conference of Wesleyan College Confucius Institute was held in the American Cultural Center (GLN classroom of GUCIBT). Qu Shaobing (the Director of the Education Bureau of Guangzhou), Yu Jianshe (the President of Guangzhou University), Xu Junzhong (the Vice-president), Ruth (the President of Wesleyan College), Vivia (the Vice-president in charge of teaching) and Steve (the Vice-president in charge of Enrollment) voted and passed the contents such as the resolution for the new Administration Committee, the final account of startup fund for Confucius Institute, the development plan for Confucius Institute from 2013 to 2016, the budget for from 2013 September to December and for 2014.

Since the Confucius Institute was established jointly by GuangzhouUniversity and WesleyanCollege in April this year, the operation goes well and the launch of teaching and cultural activities is fully approved by both cooperating parties. The successful convening of the Administrative Committee conference marked that Wesleyan College Confucius Institute is developing towards a more effective and organized direction.

On 28th May 2013, American Cultural Center (ACC) was settled in the GLN center of GUCIBT jointly by Guangzhou University and Wesleyan College, which is another significant cooperation between the two schools after the establishment of Confucius Institute in April this year. ACC is going to push forward cultural communication between America and China by organizing International conversation, academic lecture, art performance etc., and brings a more comprehensive introduction of America, including history, philosophy, culture and art to students and teachers in Guangzhou.
